Bangor Abbey Players
Est. 1977 Bangor Abbey Players grows from strength to strength
Bangor Abbey Players is a community amateur dramatics society started by some like-minded, creative individuals 40 years ago - some of whom are still with the club today! As time has passed, the club has become well-established locally and is perhaps best known for its annual pantomime, although the club's entertainment offering has expanded to include young people's independent charity performances, a spring farce or murder mystery and the occasional summer theatre offering, too.

The club is an active participant in the wider amateur dramatics society that is so unique to Northern Ireland. Most recently, Bangor Abbey Players presented 'Sleighed to Death' as an entry in the Church Drama League and won three different awards including Best Set, Best Supporting Actress and a special award for Directing/Starring for long-standing club member Richard Sweeney.

Anybody over the age of 11 is welcome to join the club and roles onstage, backstage and front of house are open to interested individuals. Every member's contribution to the smooth running of the club is hugely appreciated no matter how small and there is a wonderful sense of community around the club. The club is proud to host a catalogue of social events throughout the year which are greatly enjoyed by club members of all ages.
